Shortly after joining ROKT (Rocklive at the time) and understanding the business model and the competitive landscape Stewart spotted an opportunity for the business to be better leveraging search marketing to grow the platform. Understanding the requirements, he scoped out the project and put together an offshore team to develop the project.
Competition Crazy is a platform that lists all available online promotions across Australia, sorted into prize categories based on search traffic phrases and with a strong content marketing framework the site has listed over 5,000 competitions since launch. The site scores and ranks promotions based on similar metrics that google uses to rank websites to help users find the best promotions by analysing data points including page authority, prize information, social sharing & popularity. The site offers user login & account profiles that records competition entries and draw dates and allow for the site to be locked down for unregistered users to funnel them through the ROKT platform.
Launching in February 2013 on a budget of less than $10k, in the first 3 months Stewart was able to drive over 300,000 users to the site. Utilising a very strong social media marketing campaign and focused search engine optimisation efforts, since launch the site has had over 500,000 registered members and received over 4.2 million page views. At it’s peak it was driving over 50k unique users from organic search specifically searching for online promotions.
